Commander Abu Osama al-Maghribi

Commander, Abu Osama al-Maghribi, Abdelaziz al-Mihdali, born in Fnideq 1986 , in the north of Morocco. He was a mountain of a man with a warm heart, he was someone who spoke little and always quiet, rarely spent time in groups and his happiness was al-Qur’an. He could not stand reading about the honour of al-Jihad and then do nothing himself. That is why he decided to fight al-Jihad on one of the most honourable battlegrounds.

He was one of the very first of those who joined Jabhat al-Nusra before the announcement of the Islamic State of al-Iraq and al-Sham. When al-Joulani broke off from Amir al-Mu’mineen, Shaykh Abu Bakr al-Bghdadi; Abu Osama al-Maghribi was offered the position of overall military commander in Jabhat al-Nusra by one of its Amirs, but he refused and remained in the Islamic State.

He was the master planner of many battles against Nusayris; such as battle of Shaykh Sulayman, Hama, Shaykh Sa’id in Aleppo and other battles. He commanded liberation of Menagh Military Airbase along with nearby villages. Abu Omar al-Shishani stated that Abu Osama al-Maghribi was treacherously killed by a member of Jabuhat al-Nusra that Abu Osama himself had previously saved his life. A video eulogy was published for him by al-Furqan Media Foundation in April 2014. May Allah makes his face prohibited for the Hellfire and may Allah reward him al-Firdaws al-A’la. Ameen.
